When did “Noid” come out?
The single and its video were released on October 21, 2024. Sony Music Canada’s press release, published the next day, announced that Tyler had shared both on October 21 and identified “Noid” as the first official single from CHROMAKOPIA, which was scheduled for October 28. Sony Music Canada’s announcement preserves that distinction between the release date and the press-release date.
Is Ayo Edebiri in the “Noid” video?
Yes. Ayo Edebiri appears in the video. Sony Music Canada described it as self-directed, and Pitchfork credits the direction to Tyler Okonma. Pitchfork’s report also identifies Edebiri’s appearance.
What happens in the video?
The video uses uneasy, watchful imagery rather than a clearly explained plot. Pitchfork describes a masked Tyler moving through city and countryside settings; Dazed notes images of him peeking through curtains and characterizes the visuals as paranoid. What does “Noid” sound like?
Dazed describes a mix of neo-soul, vocals in Chewa, rock-inflected guitar and a rap verse. That is the publication’s musical characterization, not a quoted explanation from Tyler. Read Dazed’s coverage of the single.
The Source additionally reports that Frank Ocean can be heard at the song’s opening. Treat that as secondary reporting: the Sony announcement and Apple Music listing cited here do not confirm an official credit. The Source’s report makes the claim.
