Ebony Obsidian and Novi Brown did not return as Sistas series regulars for season 10, BET reported on January 5, 2026. Obsidian plays Karen Mott, and Brown plays Sabrina Hollins. Jordan Coleman and Tunde Oyeneyin joined the regular cast as Cheyenne Barnes and Madison Truitt. BET did not say why Obsidian and Brown’s series-regular status changed or confirm that either performer would never appear again.
Which Sistas cast members changed status for season 10?
BET’s January 5 announcement said Ebony Obsidian and Novi Brown would not return as series regulars for season 10. That describes their billing status; it is not an announcement that either actor was fired or that their characters were definitively written out forever. BET’s report does not give a reason for the change or confirm a later appearance.

Coleman and Oyeneyin are new series regulars, but BET did not describe either character as a direct replacement for Karen or Sabrina. Character descriptions explain the newcomers’ roles, not the reasons for the cast-status changes.
Why did Ebony Obsidian and Novi Brown leave?
BET’s announcement does not state why Obsidian and Brown would not return as series regulars. It also does not establish that they were fired, that they chose to leave, or that their characters can never appear again. Without an on-record explanation from the performers or the production, claims about their motives or a permanent departure would be speculation.

Who is in the season 10 cast now?
For the second half of season 10, BET’s August 2026 announcement lists KJ Smith Black, Mignon, Crystal Reneé Hayslett, Jordan Coleman and Tunde Oyeneyin as series regulars. It also lists Devale Ellis, Brian Jordan Jr., Chris Warren, Angela Beyince, Branden Wellington and Monti Washington. This later billing is the clearest official picture of the second-half ensemble; an earlier season announcement included performers from the prior cast and should not be read as proof that every listed performer remained a season 10 regular.
When did season 10 premiere, and where can you watch it?
Season 10 premiered on BET on January 7, 2026, with weekly Wednesday episodes. The second half, also called season 10B, premiered Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. As of October 8, 2026, the second half has begun. BET’s announcement and Paramount Global Content’s title page confirm the broadcast information.

In announcing season 10, BET President Louis Carr called the milestone evidence of the connection the series had built with its audience and praised Tyler Perry’s partnership and the returning and new performers. Separately, BET’s August 2026 release described Sistas as its “#1 Scripted Cable Series Among Black Adults 18-49 for Five Straight Years” and “#1 Among All Black Viewers for Three Consecutive Years.” Those are network-reported rankings, attributed in the release to Nielsen L3, Big Data + Panel / Social: SCR.Talkwalker Linear Program Report; they do not measure audience response to Obsidian and Brown’s status change or establish that the cast changes affected ratings.
