Tyla canceled her planned 2024 tour and festival appearances because an injury she had endured for about a year had worsened. In a statement on March 7, 2024, she said doctors and specialists had not relieved the pain, and that medical advice made clear continuing to perform could jeopardize her long-term health and safety.
Why did Tyla cancel her 2024 tour?
Tyla said she had been dealing with an injury for roughly a year and that it had become more painful and severe. In her March 7 statement, quoted by Exclaim!, she wrote: “For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened.” She said she had seen doctors and specialists, but the pain had become “more agonizing.”

She also said medical professionals advised that continuing with any tour or festival dates could put her long-term health and safety at risk. Her announcement did not name the injury’s diagnosis or specify a body part, so the March statement does not establish more about its nature.
What happened to Tyla’s tour dates?
The planned tour was due to begin in Oslo on March 21, according to BET. Contemporary coverage described her North American headline dates, including shows in Vancouver and Toronto, and her Coachella appearance as canceled. UK and European dates were reported as postponed or rescheduled, rather than canceled outright. The available reports do not establish the final status of every individual performance.

What was later reported about Tyla’s injury?
A July 3, 2024 report by BET described Tyla’s issue as a persistent back injury and said she was doing physical therapy and easing back into shows. That was a later update; it was not a diagnosis disclosed in her March cancellation statement.
What should ticket holders do?
Tyla’s announcement said tickets for North American headline dates would be refunded automatically. For other territories, she said ticket holders would hear from their ticket provider about available options. Because the handling depended on the event and territory, check with the provider from which you bought your ticket for that performance’s status and any refund or replacement-date arrangements.
