In his interview with Man About Town, Sivan talked about noticing changes in his appearance around age 25 and wondering what, if anything, to do about them. He considered going to the gym or pursuing “a muscle vibe.” He said the uncertainty freaked him out, while also making clear he did not want to overstate the issue.

The headline’s “transitioning” refers to the interview’s playful contrast between “twink” and “twunk,” labels used in queer culture to describe different masculine looks and body types. Sivan joked about how it might sound for a white twink to talk about transitioning into a white twunk. It was a humorous description of his own changing appearance, not a report of a medical or gender transition.

He said therapy helped him recognize that he looks his best when he feels his best and lets things flow naturally:
“I’ve just realised that I do look my best when I feel my best and when I just go with the flow.”

Why the date matters
PerthNow published the headline on 12 June 2023, based on the Man About Town interview. It should be read as a dated description of what Sivan was discussing then, not as a current announcement. In October 2023, The Irish Times reported that he had become more comfortable with his body and was accepting it as it is, in a later discussion of his album Something to Give Each Other.
A January 2026 PinkNews report covered a later blog post and body-image discussion. That later coverage is separate from the 2023 line and does not change what the original headline meant.
