That is a reported intention, not a plan Kelce has publicly confirmed: interviews with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end show he has explored entertainment while continuing to prioritize football, but they do not establish when he will retire or what he will do afterward.
What does the report say about Kelce’s plans?
First Curiosity’s headline attributes the idea to an unnamed source, who reportedly said Kelce wants to pursue acting and hosting when he eventually retires. The source’s identity is not established, and the report is not a direct quote from Kelce. The available account supports describing this as a reported post-football ambition—not a confirmed career decision.
Has Kelce confirmed that he will retire or pursue entertainment full-time?
No retirement date or settled post-football plan is established by the interviews cited here. In an Associated Press interview published October 9, 2024, Kelce said football remained his priority while he tried entertainment projects in the offseason. He described his approach this way: “I still love coming in to work, getting after it, and chasing championships,” followed by, “But in the off-season, I do like to dabble around.”
In a 2025 GQ profile, Kelce spoke about opportunities in acting and entertainment, saying, “And opportunities came up where I was excited to venture into a new world of acting and being an entertainer.” He also discussed wanting balance, free time, and time with family. Those comments indicate interest and reflection about life beyond football, but do not confirm retirement or a commitment to make acting and hosting his next full-time career.

What entertainment work has Kelce done?
The AP’s 2024 account documented several projects and appearances, offering context for the report without proving what Kelce will choose after football.
- Acting: He appeared in FX’s Grotesquerie and had a cameo in Happy Gilmore 2.
- Hosting: He hosted Prime Video’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, which AP reported was scheduled to debut October 16, 2024. AP said the show’s final question was worth $100,000; that was the prize for the question, not Kelce’s reported compensation.
- Earlier hosting: Kelce had hosted Saturday Night Live. He told AP, “I also had a whole lot of fun hosting ‘SNL’ a few years ago and I think that kind of catapulted me into where I am.”
How to read the report alongside Kelce’s own comments
| What is being described | What the available reporting establishes |
|---|---|
| Reported intention | An unnamed source told First Curiosity that Kelce wants to lean into acting and hosting after retirement; this is not a direct Kelce quote. |
| Publicly stated position | In 2024, Kelce said football and chasing championships remained important, while entertainment was something he explored in the offseason. In 2025, he discussed acting opportunities and wanting balance beyond football. |
| Confirmed decision | No retirement date or confirmed decision to pursue acting and hosting full-time is established in these accounts. |
The distinction matters: his existing entertainment work and public interest make the reported ambition plausible, but they do not turn an anonymous-source account into a confirmed announcement. Kelce’s own comments describe exploration alongside football, not a timetable for leaving the game.
