In Transit Love 3 (EXchange 3) Episode 20, Lee Yu-jung chooses her ex, Choi Chang-jin, and he chooses her. Lee Ju-won, who had been waiting for Yu-jung, is not chosen. Elsewhere, Song Da-hye and Seo Dong-jin part: she chooses Chang-jin, while Dong-jin chooses Lee Hye-won. The finale is less a single romantic resolution than a contrast between trying again and saying goodbye.
Who does Yu-jung choose in Episode 20?
Yu-jung chooses Chang-jin, her former partner, and Chang-jin chooses her. The choice follows her uncertainty; iMBC reported that she believed she would not be happy if she did not choose him. That is Yu-jung’s explanation for her decision, not an objective verdict on which relationship was right for her. Chang-jin had said his wish to reunite had not changed, while Ju-won responded with understanding after waiting for Yu-jung’s choice. iMBC’s April 19, 2024 finale coverage describes the exchange.
Do Da-hye and Dong-jin get back together?
No. Da-hye chooses Chang-jin, while Dong-jin chooses Hye-won. Before parting, Da-hye and Dong-jin have a tearful conversation. She describes her decision as a complete farewell and wishes him happiness. iMBC’s English rendering of her words is: “I sincerely wish Dong-jin happiness. My choice is a complete farewell to Dong-jin.” The farewell gives their shared history weight without treating it as a reason to restart the relationship. iMBC reported their choices and conversation on April 19, 2024.
Who else makes a final choice?
Contemporary coverage reports that Sang-jeong and Min-hyung choose each other. Other participants also make choices involving former and new partners. These are the finale’s on-show decisions; they do not, by themselves, establish anyone’s current relationship status after filming. Maeil Business Newspaper’s April 22, 2024 report recaps the finale choices.

Why the ending feels divided between reunion and closure
The finale’s central contrast is between choosing an old relationship again and honoring a goodbye. Yu-jung and Chang-jin’s choice leaves open the possibility of renewed connection. Da-hye and Dong-jin’s choices instead recognize that care and shared history can remain meaningful even when a relationship ends. This is an interpretation of their reported choices and statements, not a claim about feelings they did not express.
In a pre-finale interview, the showrunner described the episode’s dilemma as having to part from either an ex or a new connection. YTN published the interview on April 18, 2024; its Korean wording is “20회는 어쨌거나 X와 NEW 중 누군가와는 이별을 한다.” A translation is: “In episode 20, one way or another, [a participant] says goodbye to either an X or a NEW.” The showrunner also characterized the format as unscripted reality. These are the producer’s descriptions of the format and finale, rather than independent proof of every production decision. YTN’s interview with the showrunner provides that context.
