Two milestones, five years apart
The easiest way to keep Sampaio’s Victoria’s Secret history straight is to separate the work she did for the brand from the show she walked. The first was an advertising and campaign role. The second was a live runway appearance.

2019: the campaign milestone
Victoria’s Secret hired Sampaio for a PINK campaign in 2019. Vogue’s profile, published August 8, 2019, described her as the first openly transgender model to work with the company in its then 42-year history. That “42 years” figure is Vogue’s framing for 2019, not a current age of the company, and it should be read that way.
Because the milestone was a campaign, it did not involve the runway. Readers who see the 2019 date next to a show reference should not assume she walked in a fashion show that year.

2024: the runway milestone with Alex Consani
Sampaio walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2024 with Alex Consani. Marie Claire’s post-show interview, published October 15, 2024, describes the two as among the first transgender women to model in the official show. Sampaio’s agency biography goes further and calls her the first transgender model to walk the show. The sources are not identical in wording, so the most defensible formulation is that Sampaio and Consani were the first transgender women to walk the show.
The look she wore
Marie Claire reported that Sampaio wore a black matching bra-and-panty set with a glittering netted overlay and a large bow on the back. This is a description of the outfit as worn on the runway. It does not establish that the exact piece is sold, and no verified product listing for it has been identified.

Where the show could be seen
At the time of the 2024 interview, Marie Claire reported that the show was distributed on Prime Video and on Victoria’s Secret’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok channels. Those were the distribution channels at the time of that report. Current replay availability on any platform is not established by the sources.

In her own words
Sampaio described the 2019 campaign in terms of access and representation. Vogue quoted her on August 8, 2019: “I hope [this can] be a huge step toward more inclusivity and representation for everybody.”
In Marie Claire’s 2024 interview she called her first Victoria’s Secret casting a “major victory for trans people,” and added: “Being a trans woman often means facing a closed door to people’s hearts and minds. So working with Victoria’s Secret meant everything to me.”

Victoria’s Secret’s 2021 corporate release attributed this statement to her: “As a powerful global platform, Victoria’s Secret is committed to opening these doors for trans women like me, by celebrating, uplifting and advocating for ALL women.” That statement is the company’s publication of Sampaio’s words, so it reflects the brand’s framing as well as hers.
