The AFL had announced Snoop’s booking on 11 August, describing it as his first live appearance at the MCG. That was an advance announcement, not a post-show assessment. AFL CEO Andrew Dillon called him “a pioneer, a performer, and a true entertainer.” Snoop said in the announcement: “It’s an absolute honour to be hitting the stage at the AFL Grand Final — it’s one of the biggest events on the Aussie calendar.”
What happened during Snoop Dogg’s set
In his 27 September 2025 report, Ben Smith of The Nightly describes a 15-minute medley. Marching bands wearing Brisbane and Geelong colours helped introduce Snoop, while cheerleaders and backing dancers joined the stage production. Tash Sultana reportedly played guitar during the performance.

Smith’s account gives the following sequence of songs and guest moments. It is a reporter’s description, rather than an official set list published by the AFL:
- Snoop opened with “The Next Episode,” followed by “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang.”
- He performed an extended version of “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” then shortened versions of “Sweat” and “Signs.”
- Jessica Mauboy joined him for “Beautiful.”
- During “Still D.R.E.,” Baker Boy added a didgeridoo passage.
- The set finished with “Gin and Juice” and “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?).”
Smith characterized the production as potentially feeling “more like the Super Bowl than an AFL grand final.” That is his comparison of the show’s presentation, not a measure of its scale.

- Snoop Dogg's seventh studio album, R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, was originally released in 2004 and includes the #1 hit, "Drop It Like It's Hot" featuring Pharrell
What the sources confirm—and what they do not
The AFL schedule confirms the event timing and the announced performer lineup; its advance announcement confirms the booking and the claim that this was Snoop’s first live MCG appearance. The detailed duration, song sequence, staging description and guest moments come from Smith’s post-event report. The available sources do not include an official post-event set list, so those details should be understood as the reporter’s account.
