Tommy Page, the singer-songwriter behind the 1990 No. 1 hit “I’ll Be Your Everything,” died in March 2017 at age 46. Contemporary reports described his death as an apparent suicide, citing Billboard, but the accounts differ over the date and location, and the cited coverage does not establish an official cause of death or motive.
Who was Tommy Page?
Born Thomas Alden Page in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, in 1970, Page graduated from James Caldwell High School and New York University’s Stern School of Business, according to his family funeral-home obituary.
Page’s best-known song was “I’ll Be Your Everything,” which reached No. 1 in 1990. He co-wrote it with New Kids on the Block members Jordan Knight and Danny Wood. Page also toured with New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson. His obituary says he released eight follow-up studio albums that found success in Southeast Asia.
Page later moved into music-industry leadership. Accounts of his career name Warner Bros. Records, Billboard, Pandora, Cumulus Media and The Village Voice; specific positions varied over time and by account. He also appeared as himself on “Full House” in 1992, according to the Television Academy’s biography.

What did reports say about his death?
Contemporary accounts agree that Page died in March 2017, aged 46, but they do not agree on the precise date and location. The Washington Post’s March 6, 2017, obituary reports that he died March 4 in Pennsylvania. The Associated Press report republished by the Los Angeles Times on March 6, 2017 says Billboard reported that Page was found dead Friday in New York. The family funeral-home obituary identifies March 4, 2017, at his vacation home in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
The AP/Los Angeles Times account and the Washington Post attribute the description “apparent suicide” to Billboard. The cited accounts do not provide a definitive official cause-of-death finding or explain a motive; neither should be inferred from that reported characterization.

How colleagues remembered him
In a March 4, 2017, memorial post, Warner Music Group attributed these words to Peter Gray of Warner Bros. Records: “While the world is hearing sad news of the sudden passing of Tommy Page this morning, it’s important we remember the shining light & beautiful life of our colleague and friend Tommy.” Gray also described Page as accomplished both as an artist and an executive. Warner Music Group’s memorial post reflects the dual career that marked Page’s public life: first as a recording artist, then as a music executive.
