Ana de Armas has publicly discussed working with Tom Cruise on future projects, and Cruise has praised her acting. Neither actor’s comments cited here confirm a romance. Reports about their relationship have differed, so the sightings and outlet accounts should not be mistaken for a direct statement from either actor.
What Ana de Armas has said about Tom Cruise
In May 2025 coverage of an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, de Armas was quoted saying, “Obviously, everyone knows I’m working with Tom Cruise.” The report also described her discussing projects involving filmmaker Doug Liman and writer-director Christopher McQuarrie. Her remarks establish a professional connection, not a romantic one. Hindustan Times, May 24, 2025

E! reported that de Armas said she was having “so much fun” discussing future projects with Cruise. That coverage likewise framed her comments around work. E! News, May 15, 2025
In June, while promoting Ballerina, she also reacted to Cruise’s support for her action abilities. The report does not present her reaction as confirmation of a relationship. E! News, June 4, 2025

What Tom Cruise has said about de Armas
A timeline published by El País quotes Cruise praising de Armas at a May 2025 premiere. He called her “very, very talented” and described her as a great dramatic and comic actor who learns quickly. Those are comments about her professional ability, not a statement about dating. El País, July 16, 2025
How the romance speculation developed
A reported March 2025 sighting at a London heliport became an early focus of dating coverage. Later reports described other public outings, including in London and at David Beckham’s birthday gathering. These accounts say the pair were seen together; a sighting alone cannot establish whether two people are dating. Elle, October 31, 2025

The professional context matters when interpreting those reports. De Armas spoke publicly about projects involving Cruise, Liman, and McQuarrie. El País also reported on a prospective thriller often referred to as Deeper. That was reported as a project; the cited coverage does not establish that it was released or remains active.
Why reports about their relationship conflict
On August 1, 2025, Entertainment Tonight cited an unnamed source who characterized the connection as having grown beyond friendship or a working relationship. That is an anonymous source’s account, not a direct comment from either actor. Entertainment Tonight, August 1, 2025

In an October 31 timeline, Elle said that People had reported on October 20 that Cruise and de Armas were just friends and had never been an official couple. This later account is attributed to People, rather than presented as an actor’s own confirmation. Elle, October 31, 2025
The difference is partly one of sourcing and timing: one report relied on an unnamed source in August; the October timeline relayed a characterization attributed to People. Neither account should be recast as something Cruise or de Armas personally said.

Are Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas dating now?
The cited coverage does not establish their current relationship status as of October 8, 2026. It documents professional comments, reported sightings, and conflicting outlet accounts through October 2025, but does not provide an authoritative update through the present date. That limit is not evidence that no newer statement exists.
