Where were they released?
The pair had been held in separate federal facilities. Todd was released from a minimum-security prison camp in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie left a facility in Lexington, Kentucky, according to the Associated Press.
Why was the reunion described as happening after 2½ years?
On May 28, outside the Florida prison, Savannah Chrisley told reporters: “My parents have not spoken to each other, heard each others’ voices or seen each other in the past 2 ½ years.” That is her account of the separation, not an independently measured duration. Access Hollywood reported that her parents had not seen or spoken to one another since reporting to prison after their 2022 conviction.

What were the Chrisleys convicted of?
Their 2022 federal convictions involved fraud and tax-evasion charges, according to ABC News. An ABC News Press announcement describes the conviction as involving 12 counts, including wire fraud, bank fraud, and tax evasion.
The pardons preceded their releases; they were not a court reversal of the convictions or a judicial finding of innocence. The Associated Press reported that the couple had been serving federal prison sentences after the convictions.
