When and where was the final performance?
The concert, called Back to the Beginning, took place at Villa Park in Birmingham on 5 July 2025. It was billed as a farewell performance and announced as benefiting Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. The announcement did not specify a donation total.
At the show, Osbourne performed solo before the original Black Sabbath lineup joined him, according to the Associated Press report. AP reported that he told the crowd he had been “laid up for like six years” and thanked them. That remark was part of his onstage address, not a medical report.

What happened after the show?
Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July 2025, 17 days after Back to the Beginning. His death was reported following a family announcement; it was also noted on The Guardian and Sony Music UK’s memorial page. The later events make clear why earlier coverage referred to the performance as upcoming: that description belonged to reporting published before 5 July, not to the present-day timeline.
