Spoilers for Naruto Shippuden. There is no responsibly established, fully verified “last 10” list in the sources available here. The answer depends on whether the count includes anime-original events, flashbacks, off-screen deaths confirmed later, and the original deaths or later releases of reanimated characters. The one directly supported late-war sequence is narrower: the official synopsis for episode 585 refers to Neji’s death and Shikaku’s death, but it does not establish a complete final ten.
What “last 10” means—and why a definitive list needs a rule
Chronological order should mean the order the deaths happen in the story, not the order the audience learns of them. That distinction matters when a death is recalled in a flashback or confirmed after it occurred. The scope matters just as much: anime-original arcs add events beyond the manga, and a confirmed off-screen death can be placed differently from a death shown on screen.

A consistent count should also treat reanimation separately. A character’s original death is not the same event as being reanimated later or being released from reanimation. Counting both without explaining the rule can put one character into a “last 10” list twice. VIZ’s description of the war arc notes reanimated Kage and Itachi, illustrating why a list needs to say how it handles them.
What the available episode evidence confirms
The Naruto Official Site’s synopsis for Shippuden episode 585, “Those Who Dance in the Shadows,” explicitly describes Naruto grieving Neji’s death and says Shikaku dies after outlining a final strategy. This is direct episode-level support for those two deaths, not evidence for the ten most recent deaths in the entire series.

NarutoHQ’s secondary tracker places Neji at episode 364, Shikaku and Inoichi at episode 365, and identifies later-war deaths including Obito and Madara. Those references can help locate relevant material, but the tracker covers named deaths across Naruto, Shippuden, and Boruto and may include anime material outside manga canon. Its entries alone do not verify a definitive final-ten chronology.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to read a chronological list once its scope is set
- Choose the continuity: manga-canon deaths only, or all events shown in the anime, including anime-original arcs.
- Order the events: use when the death occurs in the story, not when it is revealed or discussed.
- State what counts: say whether flashback deaths and off-screen deaths confirmed later qualify.
- Count reanimated characters consistently: distinguish the original death from reanimation and its release.
- Verify entries at the source level: identify anime episode numbers and, where confirmed, manga chapters. A tracker is an index, not a substitute for checking the relevant episode or chapter.
The official series overview organizes Shippuden’s story and episodes, while its streaming note says availability varies by region. Neither that overview nor the episode 585 synopsis supplies a complete ten-character endpoint. For that reason, naming ten characters here as a definitive chronological ranking would claim more than the available episode-level evidence establishes.
