Spoilers for the ending of Episode 11. “Those Who Know the Rules; Those Who Make Them” is a tense, action-driven episode that ends with a sharp reversal: just as Xeno seems to have Senku’s group cornered, Tsukasa arrives to face him. That suspenseful turn makes Episode 11 a season highlight in my view—but it is not the season’s finale.
Is Episode 11 the season finale?
No. Episode 11 aired on March 20, 2025, and Apple TV lists its runtime as 23 minutes. The first-cour finale is Episode 12, released a week later, on March 27, 2025. Apple TV’s episode listing gives Episode 11 the English title “Those Who Know the Rules; Those Who Make Them.”

What happens in Episode 11?
The episode splits its conflict between air and ground. Senku and Ryusui take to the skies in a science-versus-science dogfight with Stanley, while Xeno’s forces launch a ground counterattack. The combination keeps the action moving on two fronts and makes the episode’s central contest feel larger than a single duel.
Why does the episode end on a cliffhanger?
Xeno appears to believe he has checkmated Senku’s group. The episode then reverses the apparent balance of power when Tsukasa arrives to confront him. It is a cliffhanger because the arrival changes the immediate stakes without resolving what happens next; the episode stops at the moment the confrontation is about to shift.

Is it really the season’s best episode?
That is a matter of taste, not an objective ranking. I would call Episode 11 a season highlight because its aerial action and ground counterattack build pressure in parallel, then the closing reversal gives that pressure a clear payoff. Its ending is especially effective as a hook into Episode 12, rather than as a self-contained resolution. Viewers who prefer a complete arc may find the abrupt stop frustrating; viewers drawn to suspense and momentum are more likely to find it exhilarating.
