Public reporting does not confirm whether Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had a prenuptial agreement. Reports describe a divorce settlement plan, but that is a different document and does not establish that a prenup existed or shaped the settlement.
What public reports say about a prenup
The Associated Press and ABC News reports reviewed here do not confirm that Kidman and Urban signed a prenuptial agreement, and they do not describe its terms. No on-record statement from either person, their representatives, or the court confirming a prenup appears in those reports. Whether a private agreement exists—and whether it affected the divorce arrangements—remains unverified. The Associated Press’s September 2025 report and ABC News’s report on the filing provide context about the divorce, not confirmation of a prenup.
What the reported divorce agreement covered
According to the Associated Press, Kidman filed for divorce in Nashville in September 2025, after 19 years of marriage. The filings included a dissolution plan and parenting plan agreed by the couple. The AP described the dissolution plan as providing for a roughly equal division of joint assets, while each person kept assets in their own name, including copyrights and royalties from artistic work. That is reported settlement context; it is not evidence that a premarital agreement existed or dictated those terms. Read the AP report on the filing and plans.
A prenup and a divorce settlement are not the same document
A prenuptial agreement is made before marriage. A marital dissolution agreement addresses how a divorce is resolved. Reporting on the couple’s dissolution plan tells readers what the divorce arrangement reportedly covered; it does not establish whether they made a separate agreement before marrying.

The divorce was granted in January 2026
The Associated Press reported that a Nashville judge granted the divorce on January 6, 2026, after finding the parties’ settlements on assets and child custody sufficient. ABC News also reported the order. The AP attributed this language to Judge Stephanie J. Williams: “there exist such irreconcilable difference between the parties that would render continuation of the marriage impractical and impossible.” Neither report says that the order confirmed a prenup. The $325 million figure in the original headline is not established by the court-document reporting cited here. The reviewed reports do not identify it as a court finding, a verified combined net worth, or the value of assets divided in the settlement. The AP’s description of a roughly equal division of joint assets provides no precise percentage or valuation. It would therefore be misleading to present $325 million as a confirmed divorce amount or to connect it to a prenup.
