Why the year matters
The date alone does not identify a unique puzzle. A separate November 9, 2025 page has different clues, including “Croat or Bulgarian,” “No-___ Texas Hold’em,” and “Purchase price.” These answers are not a substitute for that puzzle or for a November 9 puzzle in another year. Where to play the Mini or find past puzzles
The New York Times describes the Mini as a smaller version of its Crossword. Its Help Center says subscribers can play in the NYT Games app, on nytimes.com/crosswords, and in the News app; subscribers can also solve past Minis in the web and app archive. The puzzle works by filling white squares with letters that form crossing words or phrases from the Across and Down clues. Check and Reveal can expose a square, an answer, or the whole puzzle.

According to the same NYT Help Center page, weekday and Saturday Minis are released at 10 p.m. EST the prior evening. Sunday puzzles are released at 6 p.m. EST on Saturday. The Times summarizes the timing this way: “Each daily mini is available for players the evening before the puzzle’s publish date.”
