Masters Milk: A Century of WA Goodness was a temporary exhibition at WA Museum Boola Bardip celebrating the Western Australian brand’s centenary. It ran from 3 February to 30 March 2025, was included with general admission, and has now closed.

What the exhibition showed

The Western Australian Museum described the display as a curated look at Masters’ legacy, bringing together historical artefacts, vintage advertising and other memorable items connected to the brand’s history and its impact in Western Australia. The museum’s exhibition listing confirms its title, dates and inclusion with general admission.

Contemporary reporting by PerthNow identified some of the objects: fourth-generation dairy farmer Michael Partridge contributed vintage packaging, old bottles and butter churns. His family had supplied Masters for decades. Partridge said sharing the pieces was a way to mark the anniversary and celebrate a brand with deep community roots.

Masters’ Western Australian history

The museum dates Masters’ establishment to 1925 in Byford, Western Australia, where Harold and Thelma Masters founded the business. The centenary display marked 100 years since that beginning.

#1 Best Overall

PerthNow’s January 2025 report adds details about the company’s development. It says Wesfarmers took over in 1947 and expanded operations into Perth’s western suburbs; within three years, production had reached 15,900 litres of milk per day. That historical production figure is reported by PerthNow, rather than independently verified in the museum listing.

According to the same report, Masters introduced carton-packed milk in Western Australia and launched its flavoured milk range in 1964. PerthNow also described the range as the state’s “No.1 selling flavoured milk brand” 61 years later. The report does not specify the ranking method, so that status should be understood as a claim reported by the newspaper, not as a separately documented sales measure.

Why the centenary display mattered

The exhibition connected an everyday local product with the people, packaging and memories behind its long presence in Western Australia. PerthNow quoted Bega executive general manager Darryn Wallace recalling Masters chocolate milk at school lunchtime, and describing the appeal of a local brand people grew up with. The objects contributed by Partridge offered a material record of that history alongside the advertising and artefacts selected for the museum display.
