The evidence does not support naming a specific track as the subject. What can be established is that Gaga’s early singles had already achieved major success, and that at least one later chart appearance for “Poker Face” was reported in 2024.
What the 2025 headline does—and does not—establish
The syndicated result supplies the headline and date, but not the underlying article text. It therefore does not establish which single the headline means, which chart it refers to, or what “global hit” means in that context. Without an identifiable song and chart record, the headline’s central claim cannot be verified from the available evidence.

That distinction matters: an older song can appear on a chart created after its original success, or return to a chart years later. Such an appearance is not necessarily the song’s first global success.
What is documented about Gaga’s early singles
“Poker Face”
GRAMMY.com identifies “Poker Face” as a track on Lady Gaga’s 2008 album The Fame and reports that it became her second consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the top-selling single globally in 2009. Those retrospective facts establish substantial success near its release, not that “Poker Face” is the unnamed song in the 2025 headline. GRAMMY.com’s retrospective.

Forbes reported a separate later chart milestone: in the October 2024 chart week, “Poker Face” rose from No. 189 to No. 186 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S., then its all-time high on that ranking, and stood at No. 190 on Billboard Global 200. Forbes said it had spent five chart frames on Global Excl. U.S. at that point. This is evidence of a later chart appearance, not proof that the song matches the 2025 headline. Forbes, October 28, 2024.
These are two different Billboard rankings: Global Excl. U.S. omits U.S. activity, while Global 200 is a separate chart. A position on one should not be presented as a position on the other.

“Just Dance”
Universal Music Canada says “Just Dance” was released on April 8, 2008, as the first single from The Fame, and reached No. 1 in five countries, including the United States and United Kingdom. The label also announced its RIAA Diamond certification in 2023. This release and chart context makes “Just Dance” another documented early success, but does not identify it as the headline’s subject. Universal Music Canada, April 12, 2023.

On the evidence available, that remains unresolved. “Poker Face” is a plausible contextual candidate because Forbes documented its 2024 appearance on Billboard’s global charts, but the 2025 headline cannot be tied to it without the original article or a chart record that names the song. “Just Dance” and other early singles also had substantial prior chart success, which further cautions against guessing from the phrase “early career single.”
Rank #4
- Shrink-wrapped
The reliable answer is narrower: the headline appeared in a dated syndicated result, while its song and specific chart claim are unverified. The documented “Poker Face” and “Just Dance” milestones provide context, not confirmation of the headline’s identity.
