Amphitrite is a 47.55-metre (156-foot) motor yacht built by Turquoise Yachts in 2001. Yacht publications reported that J.K. Rowling bought it in 2016, but the available sources do not establish who owns it now. It is distinct from a separate, smaller Feadship yacht that also bears the name Amphitrite.
Which Amphitrite is associated with J.K. Rowling?
The vessel in the Rowling coverage is the 2001 Turquoise yacht, not every yacht called Amphitrite. Feadship’s official fleet page identifies a different Amphitrite, launched in 1974 and measuring 28.03 metres: Feadship’s fleet record. The two vessels should not be confused when comparing their histories or specifications.
Turquoise Yachts built the 2001 vessel. Some reports use the builder’s former name, Proteksan Turquoise. YATCO lists the yacht at 47.55 metres, or 156 feet; its directory entry is undated, and no current official specification sheet was identified in the sources cited here.
What is known about its name and reported ownership history?
Yacht publications identify the yacht’s earlier names as Anatolia and Vajoliroja, followed by Amphitrite. YBW reported that it was renamed Amphitrite in 2015 and that Rowling bought it the following year after chartering it with her family. YBW’s 2016 report and Yachting Pages’ account are secondary coverage, not current ownership records.

YATCO’s “staterooms” figure and Superyachtblog’s “guest cabins” wording are not necessarily identical categories. The 2016 account’s guest and crew numbers are historical published figures, not confirmation of the yacht’s current operating configuration.
Is Amphitrite for sale or charter now?
The cited reports do not establish current sale or charter availability. Superyachtblog reported that the yacht had been available for charter in 2016, and a 2021 report described it as listed for sale. Those are dated references, not evidence that a charter or sale listing remains active.
