Spoilers for DanMachi light-novel material beyond the anime. There is no official franchise top-ten ranking, so this is an editorial comparison, not canon fact. It uses the light novels as its scope and weighs demonstrated level, skills and magic, combat experience, endurance, and situational advantages. The available evidence does not establish a precise latest-volume cutoff or a complete current ranking; placements below are therefore reasoned judgments, not definitive measurements.
How this ranking works
Levels provide a useful baseline, but they do not settle every matchup. A close-combat specialist, a powerful mage, and a tactical leader bring different strengths, while temporary abilities can change a fight. The official DanMachi Battle Chronicle guide lists game attributes such as power, HP, STR, INT, VIT, and DEX; those fields describe that game’s system, not an official canon formula for ranking characters (DanMachi Battle Chronicle).
The official character profiles offer useful reference points, but they are snapshots from their respective story contexts, not a unified and current strength table. In its Sword Oratoria anime character profile, the official site calls Ottar Orario’s sole Level 7 and strongest adventurer at that point in the story (official Sword Oratoria character profile). The same page identifies several prominent Loki Familia adventurers without publishing a comparative ranking.
The 10 most powerful DanMachi characters
1. Ottar
Ottar is the strongest-supported choice for the top spot in the available official profile material: he is Freya Familia’s captain, Orario’s sole Level 7, and described there as the city’s strongest adventurer at that story point. His level and standing make him the clearest high-end benchmark in this list. That profile is an adaptation-era snapshot, not evidence that his position is permanently unchanged across all later novel events.

2. Ais Wallenstein
Ais is a celebrated Loki Familia adventurer known as the Sword Princess. Her exceptional swordsmanship and combat focus give her a stronger direct-fight case than a profile alone can quantify. She ranks below Ottar here because the cited official material does not establish an equivalent level or a direct victory over him; a matchup-specific ability could still make individual encounters less straightforward than this ordering suggests.
3. Riveria Ljos Alf
Riveria is Loki Familia’s vice-captain and a world-renowned mage. Her placement reflects magical range and power, not a claim that she would outperform every close-combat specialist at melee distance. The distinction matters: a ranking that treats magic and hand-to-hand combat as interchangeable would miss how strongly the terrain, preparation, and distance can shape her effectiveness.
4. Finn Deimne
Finn combines first-class adventurer status with leadership and strategic skill. His ability to read a battle and direct allies adds value that a simple level comparison would miss. He is placed below Riveria because this ranking gives substantial weight to individual offensive range and magical versatility, while recognizing that Finn’s tactical strengths can make a group encounter play out differently from a duel.
5. Gareth Landrock
Gareth is a veteran first-class Loki Familia adventurer whose official profile emphasizes exceptional toughness. Endurance can decide fights by letting a combatant withstand attacks that would end another’s; it does not, by itself, establish the same reach or versatility as Riveria’s magic or Finn’s tactical influence. His position reflects a high and reliable combat baseline rather than a claim of universal superiority.

Tione is one of Loki Familia’s first-class Amazoness twins. Her close-combat focus and experience make her a dangerous direct opponent. The official character page establishes her standing and role, but not an exact power comparison with her sister, so placing Tione just ahead is an editorial judgment rather than a canon distinction.
7. Tiona Hiryute
Tiona is also a first-class Amazoness and core member of Loki Familia. She belongs in the same broad tier as Tione on the evidence available here. The narrow separation between them is not presented as a measured gap: the official profile supports their status, but does not rank the twins against each other.
8. Bete Loga
Bete is a first-class Loki Familia fighter whose style is built around enchanted metal boots and powerful kicks. That specialized offense makes him a formidable close-range combatant, though it is not the same as the magical versatility, toughness, or tactical leadership that place several characters above him. His position is a broad comparison, not a claim about the outcome of every one-on-one fight.
9. Bell Cranel
Bell’s extraordinary growth is central to his story, but any ranking of him needs a timeline. The official DanMachi anime profile describes him at Level 4 after his battle with Asterios; that is a particular adaptation-era snapshot, not his latest light-novel status (official DanMachi character profile). His place here recognizes unusually rapid development while avoiding the mistake of treating that older profile as a current novel-level assessment.

10. A veteran first-class adventurer beyond the listed profiles
A precise tenth-place choice cannot be established from the cited official character pages: they do not provide a complete current roster ranked by strength. Rather than invent a canon placement for a character whose comparative evidence is not established here, this final slot represents the broader group of veteran first-class adventurers. The list is intentionally explicit about this limit; it is not an official or exhaustive top ten.

Ottar is the most defensible answer to “Who is strongest?” within the official Sword Oratoria profile’s story context. Beyond that anchor, the ordering is an interpretation of different kinds of ability, not a result certified by the franchise. The ranking is most useful as a guide to relative combat roles: magical range, tactical leadership, endurance, direct fighting, and fast growth are not interchangeable measures.
A separate ranking article explicitly uses the latest original-novel material and warns readers about anime-unadapted developments (Ciatr’s DanMachi ranking). That is a reminder that anime-only lists and novel-inclusive lists can differ substantially; the official profiles linked above should likewise be read as adaptation-context references rather than a complete account of later novel feats.
