What makes the VHS edition distinctive?
The tape’s appeal is primarily its combination of a working VHS format, a limited-edition collectible framing, and anniversary artwork. It is a different proposition from the disc editions: the available release coverage documents bonus features for disc formats, but does not establish that the VHS includes extras.
Some coverage connected the release to claims about the previous VHS release by a major studio. That history is disputed, so the announcement is best understood on its own terms—as a limited-edition Alien collectible—rather than as a settled record-breaking milestone. GameSpot’s October 21, 2024 coverage notes the debate.

Is Alien: Romulus on VHS now?
The VHS release was announced for December 3, 2024, but that historical announcement cannot confirm whether copies remain on sale. It also does not establish a current price or resale value. Check a seller’s listing carefully to confirm that it is the official edition and that the item is actually in stock.
For viewers who want to watch rather than collect, 20th Century Studios’ film page currently displays Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ streaming prompts, along with Blu-ray and digital purchase options.
