Seven new science-fiction series are on the horizon across Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV and HBO Max. The schedules are not equally certain: Blade Runner 2099 has a confirmed 2026 premiere date, Vought Rising is set for 2027, and several others still lack a firm date in the sources available. Here is what is known about each show—and what remains a forecast.
What to know about the 2026–27 sci-fi lineup
This is a list of new series, not returning seasons or films. It updates the April 5, 2026 outlook published by T3, whose estimates should not be mistaken for confirmed schedules. Since then, Amazon has announced dates for two titles: Blade Runner 2099 will premiere on November 25, 2026, and Vought Rising is coming in 2027. Netflix confirms a 2026 release year for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, while the gathered official announcements do not establish exact dates for the other four shows.
The seven projects span several services; no single platform carries the full lineup. Availability can also vary by territory, so check the relevant service in your country closer to release.
| Series | Platform reported | Release status established here |
|---|---|---|
| Spider-Noir | Prime Video, per T3 | T3 listed May 27, 2026; no current official date or release status established here. |
| Lanterns | HBO Max, per T3 | T3 forecast August 2026; no official date established here. |
| Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 | Netflix | Netflix confirms 2026; no exact date established here. |
| Neuromancer | Apple TV, per T3 | Apple confirms the adaptation; no premiere date established here. |
| Blade Runner 2099 | Prime Video | November 25, 2026, confirmed by Amazon. |
| Vought Rising | Prime Video | 2027, confirmed by Amazon; no specific date announced. |
| Assassin’s Creed | Netflix, per T3 | T3 considered late 2026 possible and 2027 increasingly likely; no current official date established here. |
The platform labels and early estimates for titles without an official schedule come from T3’s April 5, 2026 preview. They are not confirmation of a premiere or of availability in every region. The later dates for Blade Runner 2099 and Vought Rising come from Amazon’s announcement for Blade Runner 2099 and Amazon’s Vought Rising update.

The seven shows, one by one
Spider-Noir
T3 describes a black-and-white Spider-Man multiverse noir led by Nicolas Cage, with Harry Bradbeer directing the first two episodes. Its April 2026 preview listed Prime Video and gave May 27, 2026 as the expected date. The sources gathered here do not establish whether that date remains current or confirm release status, so treat it as T3’s earlier schedule rather than a verified premiere.
Lanterns
T3 presents this HBO Max series as an Earth-based police drama following Green Lantern Corps members Hal Jordan and John Stewart, set after Supergirl. The preview forecast August 2026, but no official date is established here. That makes the month a reported expectation, not a confirmed launch.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85
Netflix’s official page identifies the animated series as a 2026 sci-fi title. Its story returns to Hawkins in the winter of 1985, between events of the original series. Netflix’s page supports the year and setting, but not an exact premiere date in the information gathered here. See the official Netflix title page.
Neuromancer
Apple confirms a series adaptation of William Gibson’s novel, centered on hacker Case and Molly as they undertake a high-stakes heist against a corporate dynasty. The announcement establishes the premise and source material, but gives no premiere date. The novel was first published in 1984; readers who want the original story can look for Neuromancer by William Gibson, without assuming any particular edition or stock availability. Apple’s series announcement provides the adaptation details.

Blade Runner 2099
Amazon has confirmed that all eight episodes of this limited series will premiere on Prime Video on November 25, 2026. Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer star; the story is set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049. This is the clearest dated entry in the lineup. The schedule and series details are in Amazon’s announcement.
Vought Rising
This The Boys prequel is set in the 1950s and explores Vought’s origins, with Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash among its stars. Amazon says it will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 2027; it has not announced a specific day or month. The current year-level window replaces T3’s earlier late-2026/early-2027 expectation. See Amazon’s Vought Rising update.

Assassin’s Creed
T3 lists a live-action Netflix adaptation of Ubisoft’s game franchise and names Tanzyn Crawford, Laura Marcus, Lola Petticrew and Toby Wallace as regulars. Its April 2026 outlook said a late-2026 release was possible, with 2027 increasingly likely. No current official date is established here, so neither window should be read as confirmed.

For planning purposes, separate confirmed announcements from forecasts. Amazon’s November 25, 2026 date for Blade Runner 2099 and 2027 window for Vought Rising are official. Netflix’s 2026 designation for Tales From ’85 is also official, though it is not an exact date. T3’s May and August estimates for Spider-Noir and Lanterns, and its possible windows for Assassin’s Creed, are dated expectations. Apple has confirmed Neuromancer but not its launch schedule in the announcement cited here.
