No confirmed WWE return or “baffling new plans” for Chris Jericho are established by the available reporting. WWE’s reviewed news pages have not announced his return, while 2026 coverage has focused on earlier speculation and his return to AEW. Those stories do not confirm a new WWE deal or creative plan.
What is known about the alleged WWE plans?
The specific report behind the phrase “baffling new plans” could not be identified in the sources reviewed. Its claim, source and attribution therefore remain unverified. There are no substantiated current WWE plans to describe or compare.
WWE’s corporate news archive entries surfaced for September 24–28, 2026, do not announce a Jericho return. WWE’s news feed reviewed on October 8, 2026, likewise showed no surfaced return announcement. These are findings about those public pages, not evidence that private discussions have not taken place. How the 2026 speculation differs from confirmation
Several reports in 2026 discussed speculation about Jericho returning to WWE, but their subject was prior rumours or his decision to return to AEW—not a newly confirmed WWE agreement.

A WWE interview from October 30, 2013 offers historical context only. Asked about a possible return then, Jericho said, “I don’t have any plans right now,” adding that he would not give a date even if he knew one. That answer described his situation in 2013; it says nothing about his plans in 2026. WWE interview

The clearest evidence would be a direct statement from Jericho or WWE, or a WWE announcement. A report that names its source and gives the exact claim would also make it possible to assess what is being alleged. Until such evidence appears, the “baffling new plans” wording should be treated as an unverified rumour, not a confirmed development.
