Why was the 150th performance a milestone?
The number marked Joel’s final concert in a residency that had run for more than a decade. When MSG Entertainment announced the ending in June 2023, Joel reflected on its length: “I’m kind of flabbergasted that it lasted as long as it did. My team tells me that we could continue to sell tickets, but ten years, 150 shows – all right already!”
MSG’s June 1, 2023 announcement set out the planned conclusion and 150-show milestone. Its July 24, 2024 announcement marked the occasion as both the residency’s finale and Joel’s 150th lifetime MSG performance.
