For classic detective fiction, WizKids’ Sherlock Holmes HeroClix Iconix set offers six figures and game or display components. The right pick depends on whether you want a poseable Batman, a larger feature-play figure, or a Holmes ensemble—not on any claim that one is universally best.
Which detective figure should you choose?

What makes the New 52 Batman the most direct detective pick?
Batman fits both halves of the idea: an action figure with crimefighter equipment, and a fictional character whose official DC biography identifies his detective abilities. DC Shop describes him as “a master detective and an expert martial artist, but his greatest weapon is his mind.” The New 52 figure pairs that character framing with a grapnel launcher, batarang, base, and art card. Its listed 7-inch scale and up to 22 moving parts make the specifications easy to compare with larger figures, but those numbers alone do not establish paint quality, pose stability, or durability.
When is a Sherlock Holmes set a better fit?
Choose the WizKids HeroClix Iconix set if the appeal is the world of classic detective fiction rather than a single poseable hero. The set gathers Holmes and five other story characters, including Watson, Moriarty, Irene Adler, and the Hound of the Baskervilles. Its cards and additional game/display components make it a different kind of collectible from a standalone action figure. The listing does not give a scale or articulation count, so compare it by cast and format instead.
What should you know about Mattel’s Detective Batman?
Mattel’s customer-service product record identifies Batman Missions Detective Batman as GHL87, released in 2019, for ages four and up. It lists an 11.5-inch scale and 11 points of articulation. This is useful when comparing size and stated movement with other figures, but the legacy record should not be read as proof that the toy remains in production or is currently available. Verify the seller, condition, and stock if you find a listing.

Who might prefer Crime Crusher Batman?
Crime Crusher is the adjacent option for someone looking for a larger, feature-oriented Batman rather than a product specifically presented as a detective figure. Mattel lists a 12-inch height, 16 points of articulation, more than 25 phrases and sounds, four weapon accessories, and an age recommendation of four and up. The listing does not specify which phrases or sounds are included, so treat the count as a feature specification rather than a measure of play value.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose and check a listing
- Pick the character and format. Choose a Batman single figure for a crimefighter, the Holmes HeroClix set for a group of classic-fiction characters, or Crime Crusher for a feature-play format.
- Compare size and movement. Use the listed scale, height, and articulation figures as stated; they are not equivalent measures across brands or formats.
- Check the included pieces. Look for the accessories, companions, cards, or display parts that matter to your intended use.
- Confirm age guidance when supplied. The Mattel listings name ages four and up; the cited DC Shop and WizKids listings do not state an age recommendation.
- Verify the live offer. Check the current retailer page for price, stock, seller, item condition, and whether the listing matches the exact product code. Official product records establish identity and specifications, not current marketplace availability.
These are specification-based comparisons, not hands-on assessments. The cited listings do not provide a basis for ranking the figures by durability, paint quality, pose stability, or play value.
