The two greeted fans and journalists at a brief ceremony in Chuncheon; they were the third and fourth members of the group to finish their service.
When and where were RM and V discharged?
RM and V were discharged on June 10, 2025, at a short ceremony in Chuncheon, South Korea, about 75 kilometers northeast of Seoul. Yonhap reported that the gathering took place at a football field near V’s military unit. Coverage also described the site as a sports park in Sinbuk-eup, so Chuncheon is the clearest concise location.
The two arrived separately, exchanged a light hug, saluted and greeted fans and journalists before leaving separately. RM played a celebratory saxophone rendition of a soundtrack from a Japanese animated film, while V held flower bouquets. Hundreds of fans had gathered, according to Yonhap.
What did RM and V say after completing service?
RM thanked the fans who had waited: “I want to tell our fans that I’m grateful they waited for us.” V described the experience as a time to reconsider and reset: “The military was a time for me to rethink and compose my mind and body.”

What roles did they serve in?
Both members enlisted in December 2023, but their assignments differed. RM served in the Army’s military band; Korea.net specified that he was in the Republic of Korea Army’s 15th Infantry Division band. V served in a special mission unit under military police, identified by Korea.net as the military police special mission team.

Where did their discharges fit into BTS’ military-service timeline?
RM and V were the third and fourth members of BTS to complete service. Jin had completed his service in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October 2024. In reports published on June 10, 2025, Jimin and Jung Kook were scheduled to be discharged the next day, while Suga was expected to finish later in June. Those were the dates reported at the time, not future plans.
RM and V’s ceremony was not a reunion performance by all seven members. Korea.net separately reported that BTS Festa was scheduled for June 13–14, 2025, at KINTEX in Goyang as part of anniversary activities; that event context does not establish that the group performed together there.

Why did BigHit Music ask fans not to attend?
Before the discharge, BigHit Music asked fans not to visit the site, citing limited space and concerns about overcrowding and safety. Fans nevertheless gathered for the brief ceremony. The request was a crowd-safety measure, not an indication that the event was a public fan gathering with managed capacity.
