The POPLine roundup published on August 23, 2024 highlighted Any Gabrielly’s first solo single, “Sweat,” alongside Liniker’s album CAJU and Sabrina Carpenter’s album Short N’ Sweet. Its “this week” refers to that release week in 2024, not the current week.
The three headline releases
- Any Gabrielly — “Sweat”: POPLine described the track as Gabrielly’s first solo single.
- Liniker — CAJU: The roundup featured Liniker’s new album. Apple Music’s catalog also lists CAJU as a 2024 album and describes Liniker as a São Paulo-based singer-songwriter associated with a fusion of samba rock and jazz. Apple Music
- Sabrina Carpenter — Short N’ Sweet: The album was among the week’s featured releases.
These are different release types: a solo single and two albums. The roundup presents them as new releases, not as a ranking or review.

More music in the August 23 roundup
The story covered a wider range of releases beyond its three headline artists. Its highlighted selections included Carol Biazin’s “No Escuro,” Duda Beat and Jota Quest’s “Minha Estrela,” MC Hariel featuring Gilberto Gil on “A Dança,” Nando Reis’s Estrela (álbum 2), and Taylor Swift’s “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” audiovisual.
Other examples in the roundup included Coldplay’s “WE PRAY,” featuring Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and TINI; Miranda Lambert’s “No Man’s Land”; Myke Towers’s La Pantera Negra; and Sofi Tukker’s BREAD. The POPLine article organizes its broader selection across other releases, audiovisuals, albums, and EPs.

How to read “this week” today
“This week” is anchored to POPLine’s publication date, August 23, 2024. It is not a current-release guide. Sabrina Carpenter’s official music page now lists Man’s Best Friend with a date of September 28, 2026; that later catalog listing is separate from the 2024 roundup and should not be folded into it.
