The premise is a matter of taste, not a factual verdict: “attractive” is subjective, and “dress like hobos” is a demeaning way to describe ordinary or deliberately relaxed clothing. The available sources do not verify 20 celebrities or specific outfits, so naming people as examples would risk inventing a list. What they do show is why casual celebrity style can look strikingly different from red-carpet dressing—and why an outfit alone rarely tells you who chose it or why.
What counts as “dressing like a hobo”?
There is no objective fashion test for the phrase in the original headline. A more useful, less judgmental way to frame the idea is to look for a contrast: a person widely perceived as attractive wearing clothing that appears unusually casual, oversized, worn, or mismatched for the setting. That is an opinion about a specific look, not a reliable judgment about the person or their usual style.
Context matters. Jeans and a T-shirt may be entirely appropriate for a coffee run, but read as notably informal at a formal event. A photograph also captures one moment; it does not establish how the clothes looked in person, whether they were intentionally styled, or what the wearer’s wardrobe is generally like.
Why casual looks are part of celebrity style
Everyday basics can be a deliberate preference
Vogue describes Dakota Johnson as a jeans-and-T-shirt wearer, while ELLE reports that Emily Ratajkowski characterizes her style as casual. Those accounts offer context for why familiar basics appear in celebrity wardrobes; they do not establish that either woman dresses badly or belongs on a list of 20 people.

Ratajkowski told ELLE, “I grew up in Southern California, so my style was always really casual,”. Her remark describes her own style background, not the meaning or intent of any particular outfit.
A public outfit may involve a stylist
Celebrity clothing is not always a simple window into personal taste. In a 2026 Vanity Fair interview, stylist Kate Young discussed celebrity dressing and brand relationships, saying, “I want [people] to look at my client and be like, ‘that’s the chicest woman ever!’” British Vogue identifies Rhea Francois as Maya Jama’s long-standing stylist collaborator; Francois described Jama as “fun, playful and sexy, which I love”. These examples show that professional styling can be part of celebrity fashion. They do not prove that a particular casual look was styled, sponsored, or chosen for a specific reason.
What a fair, useful list would need to show
A credible version of this article would identify a real outfit and make the judgment easy for readers to assess, rather than treating an insult as a fact. For every entry, it would need:
Rank #2
- Setting and date: where and when the outfit was photographed or reported, with the occasion described accurately.
- Visible details: the garments, fit, condition, and coordination that make the look seem especially informal or unpolished.
- Context: whether the setting called for casual or formal dress, so readers can judge the contrast for themselves.
- Attribution: whether a reliable source credits a stylist or identifies a brand. Without that evidence, claims about who selected the clothes or whether a look was sponsored are speculation.
Those checks are absent for the proposed 20-person list: the available sources do not substantiate the names, outfits, dates, or settings. It would therefore be misleading to present a numbered list of celebrities as if the examples had been verified.

What the available examples can—and cannot—tell you
Coverage of Johnson’s jeans-and-T-shirt preference and Ratajkowski’s description of her casual style supports a narrower point: relaxed basics are part of celebrity wardrobes, too. It does not rank either person’s attractiveness, establish that casual clothing is “bad,” or supply evidence for the headline’s promised list. A careful style discussion should describe a documented outfit and leave room for readers to disagree with the assessment.
