Curse grades offer an in-universe classification, but they are not a verified ranking of every named spirit. This guide explains what the sources establish—and why a confident “10 weakest” list would overstate the evidence.
Why there is no definitive weakest-curses list
The title’s “ranked” premise is editorial, not an official series ranking. The official anime character pages identify curses and describe their origins or abilities; they do not order them from weakest to strongest. A secondary grade overview can help explain the system, but it is not primary-source proof of a complete ranking.

That distinction matters because a character’s grade, a fight outcome, and an overall power comparison are different kinds of evidence. A quick loss may reflect a powerful opponent or unfavorable circumstances rather than a weak curse. Likewise, intelligence, screen time, appearance, or an unusual ability cannot by themselves establish a place on a strength ladder.
What the sources do establish
Grades are useful, but incomplete evidence
Curse grades provide an in-universe classification. A secondary reference identifies Ko-Guy as Grade 2 and recounts his defeat by Yuji, but that attribution should not be mistaken for an official ranking of all curses. The official anime roster lists Ko-Guy among the Shibuya-era curse-related characters, while it does not assign him a comparative position among the weakest spirits. The grade overview and official Shibuya-era roster support those limited claims.

Origins and abilities do not prove relative strength
The official first-season character descriptions associate Mahito with humans and soul alteration, Jogo with the earth, and Hanami with fear of forests. These details identify their themes and abilities, but do not establish a weakest-to-strongest comparison. The official roster also names other curse-related characters, including Dagon. The official character roster and first-season descriptions are useful for identification, not for a bottom-ten ranking.
Why a ten-entry ranking would be misleading
A defensible list would need comparable evidence for each entry: a stated grade where available, demonstrated combat performance, any innate technique or unusual ability, and the opponent and circumstances involved in a defeat. The evidence available here does not provide comparable primary-source feats for ten named curses. Filling ten slots anyway would turn gaps in evidence into invented certainty.
Rank #2
- Explicit grade: useful when a source states one, but not enough by itself to rank every individual curse.
- Fight performance: meaningful only when the opponent and circumstances are taken into account.
- Abilities: relevant to a matchup, but not a complete measure of strength.
- Unstated grade: should remain “grade not established in the cited source,” rather than being guessed.
For example, Ko-Guy is a grounded candidate for discussion because the secondary grade reference calls him Grade 2 and describes his encounter with Yuji. That still does not establish him as one of the ten weakest curses: the evidence cited here does not compare him with ten other named spirits on the same terms.

For readers who want to evaluate individual encounters directly, Shueisha lists the manga series and Volume 2, while VIZ’s official series page references Jujutsu Kaisen: The Official Anime Guide: Season 1. These are routes to the primary story and an official guide, not evidence of a published weakest-curses ranking. Shueisha’s series and Volume 2 listings and VIZ’s official series page provide the relevant references.
