Yes—but not as a halftime performance. During Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024, Beyoncé appeared in a Verizon commercial that ended with a call to “drop the new music.” She followed it with an Act II teaser and released two songs, “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” The album’s title, Act II: Cowboy Carter, came later, on March 12; the album was released March 29, 2024.
What Beyoncé announced during the Super Bowl
The moment happened in a Verizon advertisement during Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, 2024—not in a performance announcement from the game itself. The commercial’s closing line invited Beyoncé to “drop the new music.” Contemporary accounts transcribed one word differently: the Associated Press rendered it as “Bey,” while GRAMMY.com rendered it as “they.”

After the commercial aired, Beyoncé posted a teaser announcing “Act II” and giving March 29 as the release date. The teaser identified the project as Act II; it did not yet reveal the later album title, Cowboy Carter. The Associated Press covered the ad and immediate announcement on February 12, 2024 (Associated Press); GRAMMY.com also recounts the teaser and date (GRAMMY.com).
Which songs came out right after the ad?
Beyoncé released two songs after the commercial: “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages.” They were the first two songs associated with the Act II project, not the full album. GRAMMY.com’s chronology describes the releases and project context (GRAMMY.com).

The naming came in a separate announcement. On March 12, 2024, the Associated Press reported that the album was titled Act II: Cowboy Carter. The full album followed on March 29, the date first given in the teaser. The AP report also noted limited-edition CD, vinyl, and box-set releases; it does not establish current stock or availability (Associated Press).
