Those were the dates in the announced schedule—not the final dates for both films: Disney’s current US movie pages list Elio for June 20, 2025, while Snow White remained set for March 21, 2025. The official schedule materials establish the dates, but do not explain why either film moved.
Which films were affected?
The schedule story concerns two different Disney projects: Pixar’s animated feature Elio and Disney’s live-action musical reimagining of Snow White. Disney’s February 2024 investor schedule listed Elio for June 13, 2025, and Snow White for March 21, 2025. Disney’s February 2024 investor presentation is a historical snapshot of the company’s announced slate.

What changed—and what did not?
Elio moved again after the 2024 schedule
Disney’s February 2024 schedule put Elio on June 13, 2025. The current official movie page gives June 20, 2025, one week later. So the 2024 schedule date was not the film’s eventual US theatrical date.

Snow White kept the listed date
Snow White appeared on March 21, 2025, in Disney’s February 2024 schedule, and Disney’s current US page lists the same date. The date did not change between those two official listings.
Disney’s May and August 2024 investor schedules also retained both dates. Those presentations, like the February schedule, document the slate as announced at that time; they do not establish the reason behind the films’ scheduling changes. Why were the films delayed?
The official schedule materials reviewed confirm dates, but do not state why either title moved. Contemporary reporting connected Disney’s broader schedule changes with the 2023 actors’ strike, but the available material does not verify a direct Disney explanation tying that strike to the individual move of Elio or Snow White. That connection is reported context, not a confirmed company rationale.
A changed date alone also does not prove production trouble, concerns about quality, or a commercial forecast. The schedule establishes when Disney planned to release a film at a particular point in time; it does not reveal the internal reasoning behind the decision.

How the films fit into Disney’s 2024 slate
The same 2024 schedule placed Inside Out 2 on June 14, 2024, Moana 2 on November 27, 2024, and the live-action Moana on June 27, 2025. Those dates provide context for the lineup, but they do not demonstrate why Disney positioned the films there.
Pixar’s retrospective says Inside Out 2 opened in theaters on June 14, 2024, and describes it as the highest-grossing animated film of all time and the highest-grossing film of 2024. The page states those rankings without a gross figure in the cited passage. Pixar’s Inside Out 2 history
