A release before 2028 remains possible, but current statements do not establish a year or release window. The next officially announced continuation is a theatrical film, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, which also has no announced date.
When is Solo Leveling Season 3 coming out?
No Season 3 release date has been announced in the official notices and reports reviewed as of October 8, 2026. There is no confirmed year, season, or window, so a claim that it will arrive before 2028 should be treated as speculation rather than news.
The series has released one season in Winter 2024 and Season 2 in Winter 2025, according to Crunchyroll’s 2026 movie announcement. That history does not establish an annual release pattern or predict when another season will arrive.
Is Season 3 confirmed, or is it in production?
Crunchyroll president Rahul Purini said in an interview reported by GamesRadar on June 1, 2026: “Nothing to announce, but we are just as eager as the fans for the next show!” He also said, “We know the creators are actively working on it, so hopefully we can announce something soon.”

Those comments indicate that the creators are working on the next show, but Purini explicitly said there was nothing to announce. They do not confirm that the next project is Season 3, provide a release schedule, or say when an announcement will come.
What did the 2028 Olympics comment actually mean?
On May 2, 2025, the official Solo Leveling account shared a remark from Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi. In a report published two days later, MeriStation rendered his comments as saying that, if the choice were his, he would wait until the next Olympics in 2028 to see what happens with Season 3—but that the decision depended more on animation producer Atsushi Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.
That was Furuhashi expressing a personal preference, not announcing a release date or a plan to wait until 2028. In the same reported remarks, he said 220,000 animation frames were created between Seasons 1 and 2. That is a producer-reported production figure, not an independently audited statistic, and it cannot be used to calculate how long another season will take.

No: the announced project is a theatrical movie, not a TV season. Solo Leveling: Beyond the System was announced as a continuation after Season 2. Crunchyroll announced it on July 3, 2026 UTC, and Aniplex published its Japanese announcement on July 4. Neither notice gives the film a release date.

The announcements do not specify which source-material arc the movie will cover, nor do they say that the film replaces or rules out a future Season 3. The movie and a potential third season should therefore be treated as separate questions until the rights holders provide more detail.
