The five-episode 2024 installment of American Horror Stories premiered October 15 on Hulu. Hulu announced ten cast members, including Michael Imperioli, Henry Winkler and June Squibb. One naming detail: FX calls this collection the “Third Installment,” rather than “Season 4.”
When did the 2024 American Horror Stories installment come out?
It premiered on October 15, 2024. FX described it as a five-episode Huluween event, while Hulu’s September 18, 2024 announcement said the series would return with five new scary tales. FX’s series page and Hulu’s announcement confirm the date.

Why is it called Season 4 in some listings?
The 2024 collection is commonly identified as the show’s fourth season, but FX’s series page labels it the “Third Installment.” Hulu’s announcement calls it the return of American Horror Stories without using “Season 4.” These are differing labels for the same five-episode 2024 event, not separate releases.
How many episodes are in the 2024 installment?
There are five episodes, described by Hulu as five new scary tales. American Horror Stories is an anthology spin-off: each episode features a different horror story, according to Hulu’s official series description.
