Raquel and Ares reunite, giving their relationship a romantic conclusion rather than leaving their future as a new cliffhanger. Raquel’s story also moves forward through her writing, while her grief for Yoshi remains part of her life.
Do Raquel and Ares end up together?
Yes. The broad ending outcome is that Raquel Mendoza and Ares Hidalgo come back together after their winter reunion and the pressures surrounding their relationship. The film answers the question it sets up: whether they can find a way forward after separating.

Netflix’s official synopsis establishes the split, saying that after the summer events they “decide to go separate ways.” Netflix describes their winter reunion in Barcelona and the feelings that remain between them, while a contemporary ending explainer reports that they ultimately end up together. The official synopsis frames the question; it does not recount the final scene.
What does the ending mean for Raquel?
Her relationship reaches a resolution
The reunion gives the romance closure as the trilogy’s final chapter. It is not a claim that the difficulties between Raquel and Ares never mattered; rather, the film’s broad resolution is that they choose each other after time apart.

Her writing carries her story forward
Raquel’s future is not defined only by the relationship. Netflix Tudum describes her as an aspiring writer whose first novel, based on her own life, is about to be published and dedicated to Yoshi, her late friend and supporter. Her next step therefore includes turning lived experience into a book, with Yoshi’s memory still present.
The window motif is open to interpretation
The title’s window imagery can be read as a visual expression of distance and renewed openness. Early in the story, Raquel shuts her window to Ares; in that context, the motif can suggest a change in how she relates to him. That is an interpretation of the setup, not a confirmed statement of director Marçal Forés’s intent.

Is Looking at You the final movie?
Yes. Netflix’s December 2023 announcement presents Through My Window: Looking at You as the trilogy’s conclusion, and Netflix Tudum calls it the third and “apparently final” sequel. The film is based on the Hidalgo brothers book trilogy by Ariana Godoy, who collaborated with Eduard Solà on the film’s original story. The adaptation draws on the books’ universe, but that does not mean every film event reproduces a novel plot point.
