After Tareq and Michaele Salahi attended a 2009 White House state dinner without invitations, the couple became central figures in The Real Housewives of DC, publicly challenged accounts of the incident, and published their own version of events. Later reporting covered their separation and a dispute over the family’s Oasis Winery. The available sources do not establish Tareq Salahi’s current occupation or activities.
The White House state-dinner breach
In November 2009, Tareq and Michaele Salahi attended a state dinner hosted by President Barack Obama despite not being on the guest list. They passed security checkpoints and met the president. The incident prompted security investigations, as the Associated Press later recounted in its reporting on White House security breaches: Associated Press.
The basic facts of the breach are distinct from the Salahis’ own explanations of it. Their public statements and later book document their perspective; they are not independent confirmation of their claims.
How the scandal intersected with The Real Housewives of DC
The incident unfolded alongside the couple’s public visibility on Bravo’s first season of The Real Housewives of DC. In 2010, their official Bravo blog posts pushed back against media descriptions and offered their account of “what really happened surrounding the White House.” That phrase was the couple’s framing, not a neutral finding about the breach. The archived posts are evidence of what they said, not proof that their account was correct: Bravo’s archived blog posts.

The Salahis’ book presented their perspective
A 2010 Bravo blog post identified the couple’s book, Cirque du Salahi: Be Careful Who You Trust, and directed readers to their version of the White House controversy: Bravo’s post about the book. It is useful as a record of their own perspective, not as independent corroboration of the incident. The cited material establishes the book’s existence and framing, but not its current availability.
Later reporting: separation and the winery dispute
In 2011 and 2012, The Daily Beast reported on the couple’s split, a dispute over control of the family’s Oasis Winery, and divorce-related events. Those articles provide historical context for what followed the television season; they do not establish the winery’s current status or the outcome of any later developments: The Daily Beast’s 2011 report and The Daily Beast’s 2012 report.

What is known about Tareq Salahi today?
The sources cited here do not verify Tareq Salahi’s current occupation, activities, relationship status, role at the winery, or later legal status. The responsible answer is therefore limited: public reporting traced the scandal, the couple’s television-era response and book, and their later separation and winery dispute, but it does not support a reliable account of what he is doing now.
