How is the series connected to John Grisham’s novel?
The Rainmaker is based on John Grisham’s novel of the same name. USA Network describes the series’ central setup as new law-school graduate Rudy going up against courtroom veteran Leo Drummond and Rudy’s former law-school girlfriend Sarah. Alongside Bruiser and paralegal Deck, Rudy uncovers two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.
The television series is produced by Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television. Michael Seitzman is showrunner and executive producer; John Grisham, Patrick Moran, Jason Richman, David Gernert, and Jason Blum are also executive producers. The novel is the source material; buying a copy does not provide access to the television season.
