In South Park Season 27, episode 2, “Got A Nut,” the show satirized Vice President JD Vance and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Noem criticized its jokes about women’s appearance; Vance responded with a joking post: “Well, I’ve finally made it.”
Which South Park episode featured JD Vance and Kristi Noem?
“Got A Nut,” the second episode of Season 27, is listed by South Park Studios as dated August 6, 2025. It portrayed Noem and Vance as part of a broader political satire.
The episode drew on Noem’s account in her memoir of killing the family dog because of behavioral problems. The cartoon’s repeated shootings are an exaggerated satirical depiction; reporting describes the real-life incident as Noem’s account of killing her dog, identified as Cricket by TVLine. The episode also jokes about Noem’s appearance, including a team of beauticians reattaching her face, according to the Associated Press and TVLine.
Vance appears with Donald Trump in a Fantasy Island-style parody: TVLine describes Trump as Mr. Roarke and Vance as Tattoo.

What did Kristi Noem say about the episode?
Responding on Glenn Beck’s program, Noem objected to its appearance-based humor. As quoted by AP, she said: “It’s so easy to make fun of women for how they look.”
TVLine reported her fuller criticism: “It’s always the liberals and the extremists who do that. If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t. They just pick something petty like that.” She also referred to the episode’s depiction of beauticians reattaching her face.

How is “Got A Nut” different from the season premiere controversy?
The premiere, “Sermon on the ’Mount,” had its own dispute. AP reported that it portrayed Trump in bed with Satan and quoted White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers describing the series as “fourth-rate.” At San Diego Comic-Con, Trey Parker replied to a question about the White House response, “We’re terribly sorry,” and discussed producers’ request to blur Trump’s depiction.
Those remarks concerned the premiere and do not explain Parker or co-creator Matt Stone’s choices for the Vance and Noem portrayals in “Got A Nut.” No direct explanation of those specific creative choices is established in the cited reporting.
