Our Flag Means Death is not confirmed to be coming back. Max declined to make a third season in January 2024, and creator David Jenkins said two months later that efforts to find another home for the series had reached the end of the road. Jenkins later expressed conditional openness to returning, but that was not a revival announcement.
Is Our Flag Means Death coming back?
There is no confirmed third season in the available status updates. Max’s January 2024 decision ended its run on the service, and Jenkins confirmed in March that the search for a different buyer had not succeeded. His later comments left the door open only in principle: he said he would consider returning if a network bought the show.
The key distinction is between a creator’s willingness and an actual order. Jenkins’s comments did not establish that a network was developing, financing, or planning a continuation.
What David Jenkins said about the show’s future
The search for another home ended in March 2024
On March 8, 2024, TVLine quoted Jenkins confirming that the save effort had failed: “I can officially confirm that we’ve reached the end of the road. At least as far as this sweet show is concerned.” He added that after meetings and conversations, “it seems there is no alternate home for our crew.” TVLine reported Jenkins’s confirmation.

This was an update on the attempt to find a buyer, not a second cancellation announcement. Max had already decided not to proceed with season three.
His later comments were conditional, not a revival plan
In an interview published October 7, 2024, Jenkins said: “There are no official plans to go again, but I know most if not all of us would do it again in a heartbeat. We miss each other and this world.” He also said he would not rule out a return if a network were buying the show. TV Insider reported those comments.
