Among Goku, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha, Goku ranks first for demonstrated combat scale, followed by Naruto and then Sasuke. That is an editorial comparison—not an official cross-anime ranking—and the result depends on which versions and crossover rules are used. This comparison focuses on each character’s strongest demonstrated form in the main story continuity, excludes game-only versions, and treats their abilities as comparable only where the assumptions are stated.
How this ranking compares characters from different anime
There is no shared measurement system that makes a Dragon Ball fighter’s ki and a Naruto character’s chakra directly comparable. Nor do official franchise sources publish a definitive ranking of these three characters against one another. The order below is therefore a reasoned judgment about demonstrated abilities, not a canon league table.
The comparison weighs destructive capability, speed, durability, stamina, and special abilities separately. It does not treat a large attack as proof of superior speed, or a useful technique as an automatic win. For the ranking to work at all, assume that each character can perceive and engage the others, and that their energy systems can interact enough for attacks to matter. Cross-universe rules for techniques such as genjutsu, sealing, and energy attacks are not established; conclusions involving them are conditional.
1. Goku
Why he ranks first
Goku’s strongest demonstrated forms in the main Dragon Ball story give him the edge in a straight fight under the assumptions above. His case rests on the scale of combat the series depicts and his ability to transform and adapt during battle. Those qualities make him the strongest overall pick among these three, rather than a claim that one particular feat settles every possible matchup.

What the official Dragon Ball description does—and does not—say
The official Dragon Ball Official Site and the current Dragon Ball Super: Beerus page provide franchise context, not a cross-anime ranking. The Beerus page describes Beerus as the “strongest being in the universe” in its story setup and frames him as seeking Goku. That is an in-universe description about Beerus and his universe; it does not establish that Goku is the most powerful character in all anime.
2. Naruto Uzumaki
Why Naruto ranks ahead of Sasuke here
Naruto’s late-series story gives him access to special power from the Sage of Six Paths and places him at the center of the effort to seal Kaguya. The Naruto Official Site’s volume 71 synopsis describes Naruto and Sasuke receiving special powers from the Sage and taking on that sealing task. Volume 72 says they work together to seal Kaguya before their final fight, which is shaped by their opposing ideals (official volume 72 synopsis).

Those story anchors support Naruto’s standing as an exceptionally powerful late-series fighter, but they do not supply a numerical scale that can be converted into a direct comparison with Goku. His placement above Sasuke reflects this article’s overall judgment, not an official statement that Naruto wins every possible encounter between them.
3. Sasuke Uchiha
Where Sasuke’s abilities matter
Sasuke’s strongest main-story portrayal includes the Mangekyo Sharingan and, in the late-series conflict, power received from the Sage of Six Paths. The Naruto Official Site’s volume 45 synopsis highlights growth in both Naruto and Sasuke and identifies Sasuke’s Mangekyo Sharingan; the official volume 71 and 72 descriptions place him alongside Naruto in the Kaguya conflict.

Sasuke’s specialized techniques make a simple ranking less decisive than the order suggests. If a matchup allows a particular illusion, sealing technique, or other ability to affect an opponent across fictional universes, that can change the encounter. The available story descriptions do not establish those cross-series interactions, so they cannot be treated as guaranteed win conditions.
What could change the order?
- Different versions: This ranking uses strongest demonstrated main-story forms, not a single episode, early-series versions, or game-only portrayals. Changing the cutoff or continuity can change the comparison.
- Different crossover rules: If chakra-based illusions or sealing techniques work on a Dragon Ball character, Naruto or Sasuke may gain options that this broad ranking cannot resolve. If they do not, those techniques cannot be assumed to decide the fight.
- Different criteria: A ranking based only on a particular technique, tactical matchup, or one-on-one scenario could differ from an overall assessment of demonstrated combat power.
Where to check the Naruto story details
The official Naruto volume descriptions are useful for checking the late-series developments behind Naruto and Sasuke’s placements. In particular, volumes 71 and 72 cover the Sage of Six Paths power, the Kaguya sealing effort, and the characters’ final fight. The descriptions establish those events; they do not provide a shared power scale for comparing them with Goku.
