Her basketball credentials, 2023 signing with the brand and move into the WNBA made her a fitting face for the company’s stated push into women’s basketball. The available sources explain the fit, but do not show whether the ad changed sales or audience awareness.
Which basketball player is in the New Balance commercial?
It is Cameron Brink. Sporting News identified Brink as the women’s college basketball player in New Balance’s “We Got Now” commercial airing during the 2024 NCAA Tournament; the broader spot also featured NBA players. The ad was part of a relationship that predated the tournament. New Balance announced Brink’s signing on August 14, 2023, describing her as the first female basketball player on its expanding athlete roster. In July 2024, the company and WNBA announced a multiyear league partnership that included broadcast, digital and retail content featuring Brink. The WNBA partnership announcement confirms that broader content plan, though it does not independently identify the exact television spot.
Why Cameron Brink suited the spokesperson role
Her basketball credentials were established
New Balance’s 2023 signing announcement cited four All-American selections, WBCA Defensive Player of the Year and FIBA 3×3 World Cup MVP recognition. Those accomplishments gave the company an athlete with a record to point to, rather than a celebrity cast solely for name recognition. New Balance’s signing announcement provides those credentials.

She was moving from college prominence to the professional game
By the time the WNBA partnership was announced, Brink had been selected second overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and was entering the league as a rookie. That made her a timely figure for a campaign connecting college basketball to the professional women’s game, while giving New Balance an existing relationship to build on.
The partnership aligned with New Balance’s stated goals
New Balance said the WNBA relationship would expand its basketball presence and support women’s sports and young athletes. The company’s Head of Global Partnerships, Jess Vassall, said the partnership was intended to encourage young athletes, “particularly women and girls,” to pursue their goals. WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison likewise described goals of growing women’s sports, youth participation and community influence. These are the organizations’ stated aims, not proof of the campaign’s effect.

What the commercial does—and does not—establish
Brink’s inclusion makes sense in light of her achievements, her New Balance deal dating to 2023 and her transition to the WNBA in 2024. The record supports that explanation of the casting. It does not establish Brink’s personal reason for accepting the partnership, nor does it provide campaign viewership, reach, sales lift or evidence that the advertisement changed public awareness.
For readers looking beyond the commercial, New Balance currently lists the P400 as a basketball shoe and describes its basketball range as including on-court performance footwear and apparel as well as off-court comfort and style. That product information does not show that Brink wore the P400 in the ad.
