The film behind the Netflix claim is likely The Old Man & the Gun, David Lowery’s 2018 crime drama starring Robert Redford. But the available official Netflix October 2026 schedule does not confirm that it is arriving in the next few days—or give a release date or territory where it will stream. [Netflix Tudum]
Is The Old Man & the Gun coming to Netflix?
There is no verified Netflix arrival date in the October 2026 schedule published on September 30. The retrieved schedule material does not list the film, so the claim that it is coming “in just a few days” is unconfirmed. Netflix catalogs differ by country, and the schedule alone does not establish availability in every territory. Check the Netflix catalog for your country for a current listing rather than relying on the headline’s timing. [Netflix Tudum]

What is the film about?
Released in 2018 and directed by David Lowery, The Old Man & the Gun stars Redford as Forrest Tucker, an aging career criminal and escape artist. Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck are also among the cast. The Gene Siskel Film Center describes the film as Redford’s final starring screen role. Its description supports calling it a historical biopic or crime drama; the “gritty Western” label is not supported by that source. [Gene Siskel Film Center]
Was it Robert Redford’s last movie?
The precise, supported description is that it was Redford’s final starring screen role, not necessarily his final appearance in any film. Later appearances are recorded in filmography references, so “last movie” can be misleading unless the distinction is made. [Robert Redford filmography]
