What is The Weight about?
Set in Oregon in 1933, the story follows Samuel Murphy, a widowed veteran separated from his daughter and sent to a labor camp. Warden Clancy proposes a dangerous bargain: Murphy can pursue early release if he helps smuggle gold across more than a hundred miles of wilderness. Murphy accepts, but betrayal and violence within the group put both the mission and his chance to return to his daughter at risk. Minerva Pictures’ official film page describes the film as a historical survival thriller.
