21. “GREEDY”
As the final track, “GREEDY” has to leave a lasting impression after a long album. Its central idea and finish do less to distinguish it from the project’s other relationship-focused material, making it the least compelling entry here.
20. “WHEN HE’S GONE”
The title suggests a strong emotional premise, but the song does not make that idea feel as distinctive as the better entries. It has less staying power than the tracks that turn a relationship tension into a memorable hook or performance.

- Format: Vinyl
19. “GLORIOUS”
“GLORIOUS” offers a change of emphasis late in the sequence, but its musical and lyrical identity does not come into sharp enough focus to make it a standout. It feels more like a passage in the album than a track that demands a return listen.
18. “OMW”
“OMW” is easy to move through, but its atmosphere and central idea have less definition than the album’s stronger cuts. It lands as a modest entry rather than a memorable destination in the sequence.
17. “CELIBACY”
The title promises a clear angle, yet the song’s appeal is less immediate than its premise. It does not build the same mix of performance, production, and lyrical specificity that pushes the upper-ranked tracks forward.
16. “SOMEBODY LOVES ME”
There is an appealing contrast between the title’s reassurance and the album’s recurring romantic uncertainty. Still, the song does not develop that tension as memorably as the strongest entries, so its emotional premise outpaces its replay value.

“DIE TRYING” has a more urgent edge than some of the project’s softer moments, giving the sequence a useful shift in temperature. Its impact is limited by a less distinctive hook and a performance that does not stay with me as long as the tracks above it.
14. “NOKIA”
“NOKIA” is one of the album’s most recognizable titles and has a clear rhythmic identity, but its appeal is more immediate than deep. Pitchfork’s Alphonse Pierre was notably critical of the track in his February 19, 2025 review; my placement reflects its catchiness while accounting for how little it adds beyond that first impression. Pitchfork
13. “MEET YOUR PADRE”
The title gives the song an unusually specific character within a project built largely around romantic entanglement. That distinctiveness is a point in its favor, though the track does not convert its premise into as strong a musical payoff as the higher-ranked songs. Pierre also singled it out for criticism in his Pitchfork review.
12. “LASERS”
“LASERS” earns its place through atmosphere and a lyrical context that feels more pointed than the album’s most generic relationship writing. Pierre also discussed the song’s lyrical framing in Pitchfork, offering a critical comparison point rather than a consensus verdict.
11. “BRIAN STEEL”
“BRIAN STEEL” sits in the middle of the ranking because it has enough character to stand apart without becoming one of the album’s essential moments. The performance and production keep it engaging, even if its central idea is not as memorable as those of the top ten.
10. “PIMMIE’S DILEMMA”
Its unusual title gives the song an identity before the first listen, and the track sustains enough intrigue to justify that distinction. It rewards attention more than it delivers an instantly unforgettable hook, which keeps it just outside the top tier.
9. “SMALL TOWN FAME”
“SMALL TOWN FAME” has a strong premise: the push and pull between public attention and private relationships. That contrast gives the writing a clearer point of view than many songs lower in the list, while the arrangement keeps the track from blending into the album’s smoother stretches.
8. “DEEPER”
“DEEPER” works because its title and mood reinforce one another. It leans into the album’s R&B side without feeling like a purely interchangeable slow moment, and its atmosphere gives it solid replay value.
7. “SPIDER-MAN SUPERMAN”
The paired superhero names make for an unusual, immediately identifiable hook. The track stands out in the sequence through its concept and energy, even if the idea is more striking than the song’s lyrical development.
6. “CRYING IN CHANEL”
“CRYING IN CHANEL” brings a sharp image of glamour alongside vulnerability, a contrast that suits the album’s relationship-centered territory. The title alone captures a mood, and the song turns that mood into one of the project’s more memorable combinations of performance and atmosphere.
5. “RAINING IN HOUSTON”
The setting gives “RAINING IN HOUSTON” a sense of place that makes its mood easier to picture. It earns a top-five spot for the way its atmosphere and emotional focus work together, creating a track that feels more specific than a generic late-night confession.
4. “SOMETHING ABOUT YOU”
“SOMETHING ABOUT YOU” has the kind of open-ended title that could easily feel vague, but the song’s melodic pull gives it a clear emotional center. Its accessible hook and smooth performance make it one of the easiest tracks on the album to revisit.

“MOTH BALLS” is among the album’s most distinctive mood pieces. The track changes the atmosphere after the opener, a shift Pierre also noted in Pitchfork. That contrast helps it stand out in a 21-song sequence where a consistent R&B sensibility can otherwise blur the edges between songs.
2. “GIMME A HUG”
“GIMME A HUG” has the immediacy and personality that make a track feel like an event within the album. Its performance and production give it an unusually strong identity, and Pierre called it the project’s centerpiece in his Pitchfork review. I place it just short of the top spot because one other song makes a stronger case for balancing atmosphere with a memorable central idea.
1. “CN TOWER”
“CN TOWER” is the most complete song on the album: its production is immediately recognizable, its performance has character, and its writing gives the track more to hold onto than a passing mood. Pierre also discussed its finger-snap production and lyrics in Pitchfork. As an opener, it establishes the album’s world while remaining one of its most replayable songs.

The order reflects a balance of craft and staying power, not a claim that every listener should prefer a particular track. The album’s 21-song scope matters: some songs work best as part of its broader mood and sequencing, while others make a strong impression on their own. Pierre described the project as Drake’s most R&B-centric since So Far Gone and wrote, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U is not an album about romance or sex.” That is his critical interpretation, not an objective description or a settled consensus.
