That was about 20 months after Season 3 premiered on December 21, 2022—nearly two years, but not quite. Both parts have been released; availability may vary by Netflix territory.
When did Emily in Paris Season 4 come out?
Netflix released Season 4 in two parts rather than dropping all 10 episodes at once. The first five episodes premiered on August 15, 2024, followed by five more on September 12, 2024. Netflix announced the split schedule in its official Season 4 video announcement.
| Release | Date | Episodes |
|---|---|---|
| Season 3 premiere | December 21, 2022 | — |
| Season 4, Part 1 | August 15, 2024 | Five |
| Season 4, Part 2 | September 12, 2024 | Five |
Season 3’s date was announced by Netflix Tudum. The interval from that premiere to Season 4 Part 1 was roughly 20 months. For the release chronology, “nearly two years” is a fair shorthand.
Why was there a long wait?
The dates establish that viewers waited about 20 months between the Season 3 premiere and Season 4’s first episodes. The sources establishing the release schedule do not identify a single cause for that gap, so it should not be attributed to a particular production delay or event without further evidence.

Where does Season 4 pick up?
The story resumes after Camille and Gabriel’s disrupted wedding. Emily is caught between two men, while Gabriel is expecting a child with his ex. Emily and Gabriel also pursue a Michelin star amid secrets. Away from the central romance, Sylvie confronts an issue from her past, and Mindy’s band faces a Eurovision funding shortfall, according to Netflix Tudum’s Season 4 guide.
What is new about the setting?
Paris remains a major setting, but Season 4 also takes Emily to the French Alps and Rome. Netflix’s filming-locations guide lists Paris landmarks including Place de l’Estrapade, Sacré-Cœur, Stade Roland Garros, Pont Neuf and Crazy Horse Paris. Its Rome list includes the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Hotel Eden and Piazza Mattei. These are locations featured in Netflix’s guide, not a guarantee that every site is currently accessible to visitors.
