The stamp features a digitally illustrated portrait on a violet background and was released in a pressure-sensitive pane of 20. The announced release is now in the past; whether panes are currently in stock, and their current price, must be checked with USPS or a seller.
When did the Betty White stamp come out?
The U.S. Postal Service announced the stamp on February 20, 2025, and put it on sale nationwide on March 27, 2025. The first-day dedication took place at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. USPS’s Stamp Announcement 25-11 says the stamp could not be sold or canceled before its first day of issue.
What does the stamp look like?
The stamp shows a digitally created portrait of White against violet, with lighter, bubbly spots in the background. She wears a blue polka-dot top. “Betty White” appears near the bottom of the design, with “FOREVER USA” below; her name also appears on the pane’s selvage.
The Postal Bulletin credits Dale Stephanos with the illustration, based on a 2010 photograph by Kwaku Alston. Greg Breeding served as art director and designer.

At the first-day ceremony, Stephanos explained the paw-print detail on White’s earring: “I was absent mindedly drawing instead of eating my eggs and looking back down at the mess I had been making in my sketchbook, I saw that at some point, I had drawn a paw print.” The USPS ceremony report attributes the comment to the stamp artist.
What format is it, and how does Forever postage work?
USPS lists the issue as a pressure-sensitive adhesive pane of 20, item number 486600. Each stamp is a Forever stamp: it remains valid for the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price, rather than carrying a permanent dollar value. USPS’s issue announcement gives the format and item number.

Where can you buy the Betty White stamp now?
At the time of the 2025 release, USPS named its Postal Store, phone orders, mail orders through USA Philatelic, and Post Office locations as purchase channels in its announcement. That announcement does not establish present-day inventory or price, so check the live USPS store or contact a Post Office before making a trip or purchase.
USPS also mentioned its Officially Licensed Collection on Amazon, but that general reference does not confirm a current Amazon listing for this specific stamp. For a third-party offer, check that it is the pane of 20, review the seller and condition, and compare the total price; the official sources do not establish the authorization status of individual listings.

The official issue information identifies the stamp’s format and design, but does not give a print run or sales total. It therefore does not support a claim that the issue is scarce or limited. Collectors interested in the pane can verify its current availability through USPS; albums or mounts may be useful for storage, but are optional and not needed to use the stamps as postage.
