Tim Cook did not undergo a real procedure: he played a fictional Lumon employee called Tim C. in a short Severance Season 2 promotional video. Shared by executive producer Ben Stiller on January 24, 2025, the clip sends Cook to the show’s severed floor, where Mr. Milchick welcomes him with an Apple-themed joke.
What happens in the Tim Cook promo?
In the fictional scene, Cook enters Lumon Industries and rides an elevator to the severed floor. There, he wears a name tag reading “Tim C.” and meets Mr. Milchick, the Lumon manager portrayed by Tramell Tillman. Milchick greets him, “Tim C., core of the Apple,” then tells him, “Have a seat.” Cook sits before a screen introducing his new work life.
The screen promotes Severance Season 2 with the Apple TV+ message “Now Streaming.” The scene uses the show’s premise as a gag; it is not evidence that Cook underwent any real-world “severance” procedure.
Why is he called Tim C.?
“Tim C.” is the character’s name inside the promo. The joke links Cook’s first name and surname initial to Lumon’s severed-office world, while Milchick’s “core of the Apple” line nods to Cook’s role at Apple.
