Its TV anime “2nd Season,” produced by Studio Pierrot, began airing in Japan on October 3, 2026. Shueisha first confirmed the season’s production on July 8, 2025.
What was announced—and what is official
Shueisha announced on July 8, 2025 that production had been decided for a TV anime “2nd Season” of Black Clover, the manga by Yūki Tabata. The official announcement names Studio Pierrot as the production studio. That is the season’s official Japanese designation; “season 5” is not the title used in the announcement. The phrase “after four years” reflects the gap between the original anime’s end in 2021 and the 2025 continuation announcement. The cited official announcements do not establish the exact date of the original series’ final episode, so a more precise elapsed-time claim is not warranted.

If you want the story from its beginning in its original format, start with the manga’s first collected volume. The available official information does not specify a manga chapter that lines up with the new season’s first episode, so there is no verified volume or chapter recommendation for catching up immediately before the season.
