TheWrap later reported that its premiere drew 14 million viewers across platforms—not a same-night broadcast rating. In the comedy, McEntire plays Bobbie Jo, who inherits her father’s tavern and discovers she must share it with a half-sister she never knew she had.
What is Happy’s Place about?
McEntire stars as Bobbie Jo, who inherits her late father’s tavern in Tennessee. The inheritance comes with an unexpected business partner: Isabella, her previously unknown half-sister, played by Belissa Escobedo. Melissa Peterman, McEntire’s former Reba co-star, is also part of the cast.
The sitcom reunites McEntire with Peterman and former executive producers from Reba. The Associated Press described the show’s emotional territory as grief and what follows it, alongside comedy. McEntire also spoke of the series’ themes in terms of love, hope, faith, happiness, energy and light.
How many people watched the premiere?
In a report published November 21, 2024, TheWrap reported 14 million viewers across platforms for the premiere. That is a reported cross-platform audience total, not a same-night NBC broadcast rating. The report does not establish the underlying measurement methodology, so the figure should not be described as an original Nielsen rating.
