What each June release is about
Cape Fear — June 5
Apple describes attorneys Anna Bowden (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) as facing Max Cady (Javier Bardem), a convicted killer whose release brings a threat of vengeance. Apple labels the series a TV-MA thriller. Nick Antosca created the series, serves as showrunner, and is an executive producer; Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg are also executive producers. Apple says the series draws on the novel The Executioners and the 1991 film remake directed by Scorsese and produced by Spielberg. Apple’s February 3, 2026 slate announcement
Sugar season 2 — June 19
Colin Farrell returns as Los Angeles private detective John Sugar. The second season’s case involves the troubled older brother of a local boxer, while Sugar’s search for the boxer’s missing sister continues. Apple names Sam Catlin as showrunner and Mark Protosevich as creator. Apple’s February 3, 2026 slate announcement

What is Cape Fear based on?
Apple says the series draws on two earlier works: the novel The Executioners and the 1991 film adaptation directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Steven Spielberg. The series is therefore connected to both the original book and the film remake, rather than being described by Apple as an adaptation of only one of them. Apple’s announcement
