What is the Absolute Joker reveal?
The reveal takes place in Absolute Batman #15, where Alfred tells Bruce the story of the man he has been pursuing. DC’s solicitation sets up the moment with: “Alfred reveals to Bruce the story of the man he’s been chasing for years. Enter: Joker!”
DC’s March 9, 2026 feature, “Scott Snyder’s Longest Joke”, says the issue reveals the character’s “true form” and calls him “more draconic than human.” The feature interprets this Joker as a primordial evil that takes joy in despair; that is DC’s editorial framing of the character, rather than a rating or a separate publication fact.

Is Absolute Batman #15 really R-rated?
No. DC’s issue page lists the comic as Teen Plus, not R. “R-rated” is an informal way to signal the horror-forward nature of the reveal; it should not be mistaken for the comic’s official rating or an MPAA classification.

A September 2026 DC feature, “Absolute Batman: The Joker, Jack Grimm, and Body Horror”, identifies the Absolute Joker as Jack Grimm and discusses his monstrous design and the series’ use of body horror. That later editorial overview provides character context beyond what the #15 solicitation itself says.
